Modern energy production is inconceivable without steel. Wind turbines, solar plants as well as water and bio-power plants need components made of steel. Here in particular the requirements concerning temperature, corrosion and wear play a major role. However, steel is also widely used in harbour construction and flood protection as well as in landfill sites.
